- is a 2009 American slasher film
- Summit Entertainment
- The film is a re-imagining of the 1983 slasher film The House on Sorority Row
- budget -12.5 million
- Plot -
The opening to the scene is very average and has various shots of people having fun, couples, drinks, dancing etc, and just by the opening you wouldn't associate it with the "slasher genre of horror". Also the main gender is female and women are generally seen as not as violent as men, which makes the next couple of scenes even more disturbing. There is also a lot of bright lights at the begging and "modern" music, making the setting have a much higher verisimilitude of a party. the camera then focuses on one character (female) and uses a tracking shot to follow her around the house and up the stairs. The character is then dragged into a room and then the camera looks over down onto the rest of the people at the party having fun, the camera angle also makes them look vulnerable, as if they are being watched from above.
